Mimulus, called Mimule in French, is the Bach flower of confidence
More than a plant, the mimula brings together nearly 180 species which come in the form of annual plants, perennial plants and shrubs. One of them is used to create the famous Bach flower Mimulus, whose virtues help to control, among other things, emotions.
From a purely botanical point of view, the mimula is a herbaceous plant which particularly appreciates warm and humid environments such as rivers, lakes or marshy regions. Its roots constantly fighting to keep the flowers on the surface of flowing water, this plant is known for its courage and its taste for risk. It is found mainly on the American continent, but also in Asia, South Africa and Australia.
The mimic is sometimes referred to as a “monkey flower” because certain species display a morphology that resembles a monkey’s face. Others are nicknamed “musk flowers” in reference to their fragrant scents. But the most widespread species remains the Mimulus guttatus. This perennial with evergreen and jagged foliage proudly displays its yellow flowers tinged with red and typically grouped in clusters. It flowers from summer until fall. An annual plant, this prominent member of the Scrophulariaceae family can reach up to 80 cm in height when it flourishes in ideal sunlight conditions.
