Eschscholtzia (Eschscholtzia californica)
Eschscholtzia was introduced to Europe in the 19th century as an ornamental plant by J.F. Escholtz, a Russian botanist. It is a beautiful plant with characteristic yellow flowers that is native to California, where it covers vast areas near redwood forests. Eschscholtzia is part of the same family as the poppy.
