The Accu-Chek® Guide strip has a wide application area. You can apply a small drop of blood anywhere in the yellow test strip application area. The strip has been designed so that applying a small drop of blood to the end of the strip is easy.
Used with the Accu-Chek Guide meter, the Accu-Chek Guide test strips are intended for quantitative measurements of glucose in fresh capillary whole blood collected from the fingertip, palm, forearm or upper arm and thus make it possible to monitor the effectiveness of glycemic control.
Used with the Accu-Chek Guide meter, Accu-Chek Guide test strips are intended for in vitro diagnostic self-testing by people with diabetes.
Used with the Accu-Chek Guide meter, the Accu-Chek Guide test strips are intended for in vitro diagnostic use by healthcare professionals in clinical settings. Measurement on venous, arterial and neonatal blood is limited to professional use.
This system is not intended for the diagnosis of diabetes mellitus, nor for the measurement of blood glucose from neonatal cord blood samples.
Wash your hands with warm water and soap and dry them thoroughly.
Check the expiration date on the test strip vial. Do not use test strips that are past their expiration date.
To take a test strip from its vial, push the test strip upward with light pressure with your thumb and pull it out. Close the lid of the bottle carefully afterwards.
Insert the test strip into the meter in the direction indicated by the arrow. The reader then turns on automatically. When “Apply drop” appears on the screen, prick the tip of your finger using the lancing device.
Touch a drop of blood to the yellow end of the test strip. Be careful not to get the drop of blood on top of the test strip. Remove your finger from the test area as soon as the message “Measurement in progress” appears on the screen.
The result is displayed on the screen after 4 seconds. If you want to add a marking to this value, press the OK key. Press the key to select the desired marking. Press the OK key to confirm the marking associated with the measured blood glucose value.
Press this button to eject the test strip from the meter. Press the OK button for 3 seconds or wait 15 seconds for the meter to turn off.
