ALBUSTIX® strips are intended for in vitro diagnostic use by health professionals and by patients for self-monitoring, in order to detect the presence of proteins in urine.

ALBUSTIX® strips are firm and made of plastic. They include a chemically treated area, called a reactive zone, which allows proteins in urine to be analyzed. The ALBUSTIX test strip results may alert you and your healthcare professional to a possible change in your condition for which it may be necessary to adapt your treatment.

Strictly respect the analysis schedule set up by your doctor or health professional. It is also important to read the ALBUSTIX strip instructions completely before starting the analyses. ALBUSTIX strips are ready for use as soon as they come out of the bottle. They are single use. These analyzes do not require any additional laboratory equipment.

Usage tips

Check their expiration date. If the expiration date has passed, discard them and then test with test strips from a new bottle. Write down the date the bottle was opened on the label. Using test strips that have expired may result in inaccurate results. Remove the test strip from the bottle. The bottle must be immediately and carefully closed. Do not touch the test area of the test strip.
Immerse the tip of the test strip in a fresh, well-mixed, non-centrifuged urine sample, then remove it immediately. Remove excess urine by tapping the edge of the test strip on the edge of the container (or placing the end of the test strip under a stream of urine)
60 seconds after removing urine, compare the reagent area to the colorimetric scale on the bottle label. Do not read the area after 2 minutes. Color changes that occur after this period have no diagnostic value.
