AlgiSite M is a sterile calcium alginate dressing composed of marine algae fibers. This dressing forms a gel on contact with an exuding wound, so that a moist environment is obtained. AlgiSite M works primarily by vertical absorption and is therefore less suitable for maceration of wound edges.

Superficial or deep wounds, moderately to heavily exuding, with a hemorrhagic tendency (bedsores, diabetic leg and foot ulcers, post-operative wounds, etc.)

AlgiSite M is suitable for the treatment of fibrinous wounds with moderate to heavy exudation.
