Description
Aquacel Hydrofiber is a soft, sterile, non-woven dressing made from hydrocolloid fibers (100% sodium carboxymethylcellulose). This dressing absorbs traumatic fluid from the wound into the fibers only vertically. As a result, this prevents maceration of the surrounding skin. The fibers maintain exudation (wound secretion) for a long time, which prevents drying.
Aquacel can remain in situ for a maximum of 7 days; however when the dressing is used in heavily exuding wounds or for other clinical reasons, it is advisable to replace the dressing more often.
Indication
Aquacel Hydrofiber dressing is indicated for the treatment of moderately to heavily exuding wounds.
