The fragrant verbena originally comes from South America and was brought to Europe at the end of the 18th century.
It has a delicate lemon scent and is known for its beneficial effects against stress and mild insomnia. In addition to this relaxing effect, there are draining and diuretic properties that promote excretion via the kidneys and help rid the body of toxins.
Whole leaves (Portugal)
Field of use:
– Against stress and mild insomnia
– To promote excretion via the kidneys
Instructions for use:
– Infusion:
To make the infusion, simply soak the plant in hot water.
One can combine several plants with complementary properties in one infusion, which increases the therapeutic effect of the tea.
Half a liter of water contains 3 to 5 mg of the plant (dried flowers, leaves, berries or seeds).
– Decoction:
To make the decoction, the water that already contains the plant is boiled for several minutes.
Due to this difference in preparation, the active ingredients of the plant are present in greater quantities in the decoction than in the infusion.
For half a liter of water you should plan on 5-9 g of the plant.
