Centaury, called Centaurea in French, is the Bach flower of affirmation
The Little Knapweed, Centaurium erythraea or Centaury in English, belongs to the Gentianaceae family. It is a herbaceous plant whose flowering tops are used in aromatherapy, phytotherapy and gemmotherapy. The Lesser Knapweed, also called Eritrea, grows slowly. It is often undetectable among other plants, because its flowers are frequently folded. However, when the sun floods them, they blossom, revealing dazzling beauty. Centaury likes humid environments and grows mainly at the edge of woods and in meadows, in clayey or silica-rich soil.
On a purely botanical level, the Little Centaury has a generally solitary stem that can reach 50 cm in height, branching at its crown. Its light green leaves, oval and smooth, form a rosette at the base of the plant and those developing on the stem are opposite 2 by 2. It is in summer that the Centaurea flowers bloom into stars made up of 5 petals and as many stamens. In full light, they form pretty pink bouquets at the ends of the branches.
