Description
You feel like your thoughts are going in circles, you ruminate because you are absorbed by your problems.
White chestnut, called Marronnier blanc in French, is the Bach flower anti-mental rumination ally
The White chestnut or “white chestnut” is designated under the scientific name Aesculus hippocastanum. In French, this tree has many names such as false chestnut, sea chestnut, common chestnut or even horse chestnut. This last name is misleading, because the white chestnut tree is not at all native to India: it rather comes from the Macedonian mountains.
Nowadays, you can easily find it in France, especially in the Mediterranean and oceanic regions. It is often planted in municipal parks, squares, gardens or even schoolyards. On the other hand, you are unlikely to come across it during your walks in the forest: it is not the kind of tree to grow spontaneously.
Very beautiful and with a majestic appearance, the white chestnut tree can reach around 25 meters in adulthood. Its white flowers, with four petals, usually bloom around May. As for its large toothed leaves, they change from a beautiful dark green to gold in autumn. It is also in this season that its fruits, chestnuts, make their appearance. Inedible, they are enclosed in an envelope covered with prickles. The latter generally bursts when ripe chestnuts fall to the ground: the phenomenon can recall a mental process which shatters to give way to serenity.
