Iron is an important mineral for the body. It supports the production of red blood cells and helps fight fatigue. BariNutrics® iron is a chewable tablet based on iron fumarate, a particularly well absorbable form of iron, which is also very well tolerated by the stomach and intestines. The iron in BariNutrics® iron is present as bivalent iron, Fe ++. It is the only form absorbed by the body. In plant food, iron is present as Fe +++ and must first be converted in the body to divalent iron. This process takes place in an acidic environment and is made difficult by surgery (gastric contents are less acidic).
