It is indicated for the treatment of cramps of the digestive, biliary, urinary and genital tracts.
For example colic of the gallbladder or kidney, spastic colon (also called irritable bowel), cramps of the esophagus and stomach, cramps during diarrhea or gastroenteritis.
You should contact your doctor if you experience no improvement or feel less well after 7 days.
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if in doubt.
The recommended dose is:
Adults and adolescents: 1 to 2 tablets, 3 to 5 times a day, not to exceed 100 mg (= 10 tablets) per day.
Use in children
Children over 6 years old: see adults and adolescents.
Children under 6 years: as prescribed by the doctor, not to exceed 1.5 mg / kg / 24 hours.
Buscopan is contraindicated in children under 1 year of age.
Swallow the tablets without chewing, with some liquid.
Do not take this medication for more than 7 days without medical advice.
What Buscopan contains
The active substance is: Butylhyoscine bromide 10 mg
The other ingredients are: Calcium hydrogen phosphate anhydrous – Corn starch – Soluble starch – Colloidal anhydrous silica – Tartaric acid – Stearic acid – Povidone – Sucrose (see section 2, “Do not take Buscopan”) – Talc – Gum arabic – Dioxide of titanium – Macrogol
– Carnauba wax – White beeswax.
