What substances does this medicine contain?
The active substance present in this product is activated carbon
Other substances present in this medicine are sucrose, magnesium stearate and sodium carboxymethylcellulose
Indication
Symptomatic treatment of digestive problems associated with the presence of air in the gastrointestinal tract and mild diarrhea, once serious illness has been ruled out.
Use
Take this medication always strictly following the recommendations of this leaflet or of your doctor, pharmacist or nurse. Not sure about the correct usage? Contact your doctor, pharmacist or nurse.
Carbobel is a diarrhea medicine and is for oral use only.
The recommended dose for adults is 2 to 4 tablets per dose (i.e. 600 to 1200 mg of activated charcoal).
Use in children
The recommended dose for children from 3 years old is 1 to 3 tablets per dose (i.e. 300 to 900 mg of activated charcoal).
Do not use in children under 3 years old and do not use without medical advice in children from 3 to 6 years old.
Chew the tablets and rinse your mouth with a glass of water if necessary.
This dose can be administered three times a day. It is taken after the meal.
Did you take too much medicine?
If you have used or taken too many Carbobel mono tablets, immediately contact your doctor, your pharmacist or the Anti-Poison Center (070/245.245).
Small bowel obstruction may occur after administration of high doses of activated charcoal. If necessary, contact your pharmacist or doctor.
Forgot to take this medication?
Do not double the dose to compensate for a forgotten tablet.
