It is important to adjust the dosage to the individual needs of the patient. Regular biological monitoring of blood calcium content, urinary calcium content and alkaline phosphatase will help to assess
treatment and to detect any excess vitamins, especially when administering large doses. Whether as a preventive or curative measure, each indication for vitamin D corresponds to a dosage which is specific to it. It is on this basis that the following scheme was established: 1) Very low doses: (2 drops of D-CURE 2,400 I.U. per day). • preventive use after partial or total removal of the stomach, in the elderly.
2) Low doses: (6 to 14 drops of D-CURE 2,400 IU per day or 1 ampoule of D-CURE 25,000 IU per month). • prevention of osteoporosis: 6 to 12 drops per day or 1 ampoule per month or every 2 months, it is necessary to ensure at the same time a
calcium intake, • prevention of rickets in newborns: 6 drops per day for the entire first year; then over the next 3 years: also 6 drops per day, but during the winter months, • in women, during pregnancy and breastfeeding: about 6 drops per day or 1 vial every two months
