2 mg chewing gum is recommended for smokers with low to moderate nicotine dependence

Use
Adults
Usual dosage: 8 to 12 gums per day
Maximum dosage: 25 gums per day
After three months of treatment, gradually reduce the number of chewing gums each day. Treatment should be discontinued when the daily dose is reduced to 1 to 2 gums
The recommended duration of treatment is 6 months. However, some former smokers may need a longer duration of treatment to avoid a relapse.
Chew the gum until the taste becomes strong
Place the gum between the gum and the cheek
When the taste fades, chew the gum again
Alternate chewing and pausing for 30 minutes
Avoid consuming coffee or soda within 15 minutes of taking a chewing gum (risk of decreased absorption of nicotine through the oral mucosa)
