HOW TO TAKE NORLEVO 1.5 MG TABLETS?
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as
indications from your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist.

– If you are using any of the medicines which can prevent NorLevo from working properly (see section above “Other medicines and NorLevo”) or if you have used any of these medicines in the last 4 weeks, NorLevo may work to less efficient way for you.
Your doctor may prescribe another type of emergency contraceptive (non-hormonal), namely a copper intrauterine device (Cu-IUD). If this is not possible for you or if you cannot see your doctor quickly, you can take a double dose of NorLevo 1.5 mg tablets (i.e. 2 tablets taken simultaneously).
If you are already using a regular method of contraception such as the birth control pill, you can continue to take it at your regular times. If you don’t have your period at the end of the pack, take a pregnancy test to make sure you are not pregnant.
If vomiting occurs within three hours of taking the tablet, take another tablet immediately. Contact your pharmacist or doctor to get another tablet.
After using this emergency contraception, it is strongly recommended to use a local method of contraception (condom, spermicide, cervical cap) until your next period. If another unprotected intercourse takes place after using NorLevo (also if this occurs during the same menstrual cycle), the tablets will not exert their contraceptive effect and there is again a risk of pregnancy. The use of NorLevo does not contraindicate the continuation of regular hormonal contraception.
Your doctor can also talk to you about long-term birth control methods, which are more effective in preventing you from getting pregnant.
If you continue to use a regular hormonal method of birth control, such as the birth control pill, and you miss your period during the pill-free period, see your doctor to make sure you are not pregnant.
Your first period after taking NorLevo After using NorLevo your period is usually normal and will start on the day you expect it;
however, it can happen a few days later or earlier than usual.
If your period is more than 5 days late or unusually light or heavy, or if you think you might be pregnant for any other reason, you should check to see if you are pregnant by taking a pregnancy test. If pregnancy occurs even after taking this medicine, it is important that you consult your doctor.
