Composition: Tropaeolum majus 125 mg, essential oils of Origanum vulgare 25 mg, Origanum majorana 17.5 mg, Pinus sylvestris 17.5 mg, Thymus vulgaris 15 mg, Lavandula officinalis 10 mg.
Properties: antiseptic, antiviral, gongicide, anti-inflammatory, immunostimulant, tonic, stimulates immunity, mucolytic, expectorant.
Tropaeolum majus or nasturtium contains glucotropeolin as RCC which releases benzyl isothiocyanate by the action of the myrosinase enzyme. Benzyl isothiocyanate has antibacterial, antiviral and antimycotic activity, proven in vitro. The spectrum of activity contains gram negative and gram positive bacteria including tuberculosis, Escherichia coli, pneumococci, staphylococci (aureus), streptococci, Proteus mirabilis and various species of Candida. Double-blind studies have shown an increase in lymphocyte count after 3 hours and an increase in humoral antibodies after 10 days. Tropaeolum majus also has the properties of isothiocyanates, ie calming cough, febrifuges, diuretics, thinning the blood, hypocholesterolemic.
Tropaeolum majus is traditionally used in cases of urinary tract infections, pathologies of the respiratory tract and skin infections.
Origanum vulgare: RCC: carvacrol. Carvacrol is a phenol, a powerful antiseptic with antibacterial, antiviral, fungicidal and antiparasitic action. Phenols are also immunostimulating, toning and anti-inflammatory.
Thymus vulgaris: RCC: thymol. Forms a powerful antiseptic in combination with carvacrol. Phenols have a rapid and powerful action but are mucocaustic and hepatotoxic in case of long-term use. Short-term, pre-dosed use is safe.
Origanum majorana has 4-terpineol, a monoterpenol which acts as an antiseptic but which is less potent and slower than phenol. However, it works longer, has a broader spectrum and does not cause toxic side effects. These two groups are combined to obtain an optimal result.
Pinus sylvestris: RCC: alpha- and beta pinene, a strong respiratory antiseptic. These monoterpenes are anti-inflammatory (corticoïdlike), expectorants and mucolytics.
The thick mucus is thinned out and expectorated.
Lavandula officinalis: RCC: linalool, a monoterpenol with antiseptic, healing, soothing, calming and sedative properties. Lavender compensates for the mucocaustic activity of phenols and has an anti-allergic action.
(RCC = Central chemical reagent).
